roman? I thought it was a pagan thing.. huh.. or am I getting it mixed up with xmas again?
lol, still pretty funny. me myself, I stopped trick or treating years ago when I got too old for it.
still buy the costumes tho, because I love to lurk in the bushes and jump out and scare the hell out of the kids lmao.
I think it’s the tiny red light bulbs I put in the eye holes of the mask that really gets the job done lol.
well, that and for those who aren’t scared, I usually wear a second mask under the first one.
“alright kid, you got me, I’m no werewolf” (I pull the mask off) “I’m really a vampire out for blood!!!!” lmao this actually happened once with some kid that accused me of just being some normal guy, there ain’t nothing normal about me :p
best vampire mask use ever, kid threw his bag of candy at me and bolted.
It is believed that when the Romans conquered the Celts (who were pagan), they acquired the tradition of costumes. The Roman Halloween, like many others, was simply a time to commemorate the harvest. Romans, specifically, were honoring Pomona - the goddess of trees and orchards. It’s believed that this is where we get the whole notion of bobbing for apples. The costumes and many other Halloween traditions are actually pagan rituals to honor the dead and thank the earth for the harvest.
Due to our character’s superior intellect and grasp of the English language, I suspect that he knew all of this and intentionally used the word “commeration” instead of “commemoration” just to get a reaction from the lowly “trick-or-treat” woman, who proved to be of inferior intellectual status; she neither acknowledged the historical fallacies nor the fictitious word and proceeded to respond in such a way that displayed her obvious lack of comprehension regarding the question at hand.

Anytime a kid throws his bag of candy at you… That’s a good costume!
It’s best to not make things so convoluted.
But if he didn’t do that, then he wouldn’t be the guy we’ve all come to love who hates us.
I DID say that correctly, right?
Convulsion is just a hobby…
: )
